Thank you, Father

If I were a butterfly,
I'd thank you Lord for giving me wings,
And if I were a robin in a tree,
I'd thank you Lord that I could sing.
And if I were a fish in the sea,
I'd wriggle my tail and I'd giggle with glee,
But I just thank you Father for making me, "me".

CHORUS:
For you gave me a heart
and you gave me a smile,
you gave me Jesus,
and you made me your child,
And I just want to thank you for making me, "me".
If I were an elephant,
I'd thank you Lord by raising my trunk.
And if I were a kangaroo,
You know I'd hop right up to you.
And if I were an octopus,
I'd thank you Lord for my fine looks,
But I just thank you Father for making me, "me".
CHORUS
If I were a wiggily worm,
I'd thank you Lord that I could squirm.
And if I were a billy goat,
I'd thank you Lord for my strong throat.
And if I were a fuzzy wuzzy bear,
I'd thank you Lord for my fuzzy wuzzy hair,
But I just thank you Father for making me, "me".

Children Learn what they live

For those of you who have been granted the opportunity of bringing forth the next generation, I have some words of wisdom for you. Some of you may already know this, so please consider it a polite reminder. I came across these words in my search for wisdom and thought I may include them in this section on children's prayers. Furthermore, it is about children. Here goes:

If a child lives with criticism,
he learns to condemn.
If a child lives with ridicule,
he learns to be shy.
If a child lives with tolerance,
he learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement,
he learns to have confidence.
If a child lives with fairness,
he learns justice.
If a child lives with approval,
he learns to know himself.
If a child lives with love around him,
he learns to bring love into the world.

A Prayer about not passing by

Beloved Jesus
help me
not to pass by
those who are in need
for fear of
becoming too involved
but in Your caring wisdom
to open wide my arms
in order that
we might hold each other
and learn from each other
in Your love.

A Prayer about understanding

Dear Jesus
taech me
to understand
the meaning
of suffering
and the meaning
of joy.
Amen.

A Prayer for the Day

Beloved Lord
I pray that I will
live this day for you
and that You will be
in my heart
and in my yearning.

Even children pray

Night night...

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

And if I die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.

Don't you just love it when children pray! Very simple yet effective.
God Bless all the children in this world.
Amen.
